Day 7 - Pushkar

A lovely leisurely start to today, especially as we woke at 6am, 45 mins before the alarm. A cup of tea in bed was very welcome instead of the usual tea on the hoof whilst showering and packing. Our coach has taken all our luggage to Pushkar whilst we are taking the Ajmer express train. The station was exactly as seen on TV recently, big, noisy, dirty and crowded.  Even though we had with us our UK tour leader and our Indian guide, we had another guide with us to ensure we all got on the train. Thankfully we are first class rather than cattle class which means we have windows with glass rather than just bars and 1 cloth seat per person. The train is grubby and our guide has warned us not to eat or drink anything that is offered and not to use the loos unless absolutely desperate.

Carriage C5 from my seat 36.  Do not let looks deceive you, it's not as clean as the photo implies. We even sanitised our hands before opening our bottle of water!

When we arrive at Ajmer we will transfer to our bus and on to Pushkar for lunch and the camel fair. Whoopee.
